Natsumi Jones is a Japanese artist working in glass and mixed media currently residing in the UK. Her work explores time, nature, customs through the fragility and ephemeral materiality of glass. She also often combines light as a material to give immersive installation effect as well as embellish the material with reflection and transmission.
After receiving a BA(Hons) degree in Glass and Ceramics in 2018 from the University of Sunderland, she has had opportunities to work with various talented artists at different institutions such as North Lands Creative in Scotland, Bild-Werk Frauenau in Germany, Hara Museum ARC in Japan, and National Glass Centre in England. Her work has been shown internationally in Japan, China as well as in the UK. Most recently Natsumi was awarded Excellence Award from The Fourth Craft Glass Creation & Design International Competition and Exhibition in Hejian, China.
