For nearly 25 years North Lands Creative, housed in the small village of Lybster in Scotland’s beautiful Caithness coast, has been one of the world’s leading centres for artistic glass and creativity.
North Lands Creative campus is slowly re-opening, with reduced hours, and new protocols in place. Whilst the campus remains closed to the public please contact us for an appointment before coming to the studio or office.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused to our loyal studio users, artists, members and audiences. We trust you understand that this situation is out of our control. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses via social media and our website.

We look forward to welcoming you back to North Lands Creative soon!
Our buildings have now been closed for fourteen weeks, you will understand the road to restarting the studio will need to be carefully planned – essential safety checks, new procedures and systems.
We exist to connect people, so we’re still coming to terms with what this means for us as an organisation, as a team, and as a place that welcomes visitors and artists from around the world. We’ll be back as soon as we can and are already looking forward to the moment we can reopen our doors. Unfortunately, at this time, we have decided that it is best to extend the cancellation of our programme through to the end of 2020.
For now our focus is on finding ways we can bring everything you love about North Lands Creative from our home in Lybster to yours, wherever you are. We’ll be launching this over the coming weeks and months on our digital channels and we would love for you to join us, so do keep checking our website.
Our first online event begins on the 3rd of July with the Glass, Meet the Future Festival. Meanwhile our staff are using the time for long-range projects, planning and maintenance.
North Lands Creative are undertaking a #buildingastrongerglasscommunity campaign via our social media accounts and we are interested in hearing from artists who would like to be featured as a spotlight artist. All we need is a good image representing your work, a small piece of text (no more than 50 words) about your current work and/ or a comment on the glass community in your country. If you wish to be featured for a week you will need to send seven good quality images. Please include your social media details so we can tag you. You can send the information directly to email@example.com

Stikla Maja Latvia and the National College of Art and Design Ireland. The ISGNE network represents and supports the diverse and vibrant glass art and applied glass art ecology, embracing a broad range of educators, artists and curatorial practice across Europe and beyond.
This is a free online network and resource where ISGNE members can network, showcase their work and share information on their latest news, projects or events. The project has created a new network page on the North Lands Creative website. We want to give our community, participants and stakeholders information about policies and plans for the coming weeks and months in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak. We wish to emphasise that we will always place the safety of our staff, audiences and participants at the forefront of any decisions and we are following government advice on cancellations and closures. We are continually reviewing the situation.
Below is a list of North Lands Creative activities and how these have been affected.
All room hires are considered postponed. Bookings will be honoured once the building re-opens. Should you wish to cancel a room hire then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Normal cancellations terms and conditions apply.
All existing members will be offered extensions by length of the closure. Please contact email@example.com if you have any enquiries.
In light of new guidance we have decided to postpone our professional class programme until next year. All students have been contacted direct but please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
There are still available spaces on each class, please book as normal via our website.
We have been advised that social gatherings are likely to be restricted for sometime and social distancing measures unlikely to change soon. We would ask at this difficult time for people who have already booked a forum ticket to consider donating their payment to North Lands Creative or agree to their ticket being carried forward to next year. This will help us pay our freelance artists, technicians and contractors who will be adversely affected by our forum this year. Please contact email@example.com if you have any enquiries.
We are constantly reviewing the situation in order to safeguard our participants, audiences, and staff. We face an unprecedented situation that is constantly evolving and we will be communicating any changes to arrangements via email, on social media and on our website as they occur. Thank you for your understanding.
