‘Bubbles’ – Pavlína Čambalová
Pavlína’s piece was inspired by the nature and form of everyday events, exploring possibilities to express the subtle nuances and atmosphere of the inner world, focusing on the experimental exploration of the glass engraving technique.
Pavlína Čambalová studied gem cutting and engraving at the School of Applied Arts in Turnov, Czech Republic, then Glass Design and Engraving at the Higher Glass School in Nový Bor, Czech Republic. Pavlína fell in love with glass ,working as an engraver in Lobmeyr, Vienna in 2008. Establishing her own studio in 2016 in Zelezny Brod, Czech Republic.
Čambalová has been the recipient of several awards including the Main Award for glass engraving from the Symposium of Schools of Applied Arts, the Moser Company Award, the Commendation of the Jury of the Internationaler Glaskunstpreis der Stadt Rheinbach in 2007; and a 2012 award from the Craft and Art in Glass in the engraved glass category.
