Glass Lives explores the human relationship with glass making and material. Uncovering some of the exceptional European master artisans using long-held traditions, skills and knowledge.
Glass Lives celebrates the visionary embodiment of both creativity and craftsmanship by European master artisans at the highest level of excellence. Supported by the EU Creative Europe Programme, collaboration lies at the heart of what the ISGNE network represents, encouraging exchange and fostering a sense of building a stronger glass community.
Glass Lives is co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Union and Creative Scotland.

Join us between 19 and 26 November for the annual edition of Glass Lives Week, a series of commissioned films, podcasts and artist interviews celebrating glass artists in the UK, Europe and those further a field who are connected to European Glass.
Our documentaries begin in the UK before moving to Romania and Italy and finally to the Czech Republic and you can listen to a series of podcasts that brings an incredible personal portrait of artists working in glass today.
Glass Lives Week, is a new initiative supported by the EU Creative Europe Programme Project ISGNE celebrating the creative process of glass making, talented artists and their work from Europe or those who have a connection to European glass. You can be part of this virtual showcase. Featuring films, podcasts, exhibition and interviews Glass Lives Week is an opportunity to engage with fellow artists-makers-designers and a diverse audience, to share ideas and be inspired by each other. Share the event with your network. Where possible, you might want to share your practice by your social media and include the hashtag #glasslivesweek
Glass Lives Week will highlight the campaign of creative talent and expertise, which inspires others and encourages openness to learn or share discoveries. You can also sign up to be part of the growing community on our ISGNE network.

If you live close to our studio in Caithness you can also enjoy a wonderful street view exhibition at the North Lands Creative Studio. “Glass Lives Local” opening on the 19th of November features the work of artists Christopher Day, Hannah Gibson, Jessamy Kelly and Choi Keeryong and Pinkie Maclure.
ISGNE is an ambitious transnational cooperation programme focusing on the vibrant field of glass. We have formed a dynamic 4 Organisation partnership across Europe led by North Lands Creative UK in partnership with Berlin Glas e.V. Germany, Ltd. Stikla Maja Latvia and the National College of Art and Design Ireland.
Our network aims to engage and advocate the importance of glass artists and their work, and offer opportunities for cultural mobility and policy. Representing the diverse and vibrant glass art and applied glass art ecology, embracing a broad range of educators, artists and curatorial practice across Europe and beyond. Our Network is a free online resource where artists and organisations can connect and showcase who they are.
