Do you want to learn and develop craft skills and be part of a new, creative business that would benefit the local community? We want to help you make it happen!
With support from the Aspiring Communities Fund (awarded by the Scottish Government), North Lands Creative is set to launch a new, community-based social enterprise project. Following the success of our recent coffee morning, we are delighted to open our studio doors for two relaxed and informal afternoons of conversation about the potential of this glass-centred, community-led business. Alongside technical demonstrations, there will be a wide range of glass and mixed-media samples available to view and handle; if you have an existing craft skill that could be complemented by glass, we encourage you to take along an example of what you make so that we can help you to explore the possibilities.
We are particularly keen to offer this opportunity to those who live between Wick and Berriedale and have been previously unable to access the facilities at North Lands for reasons such as disability, ill health, financial constraints, or lack of transportation or childcare. If you would like to be part of this exciting venture, have creative ideas to share or are just curious to learn more, please join us for this event in the Alastair Pilkington Studio, Main Street, Lybster.
If you or someone you know would like to attend but will require assistance accessing or affording transport, please get in touch with Karlyn Sutherland, our Development Manager, on 01593 721 229 or development@northlandscreative.co.uk.
