Mai Orsted creates sculptural and functional glass accessories in small exclusive ranges. The forms are sensuous and soft. All her work is produced in blown crystal and is above being functional glass pieces – captivating forms designed to entertain and please the eye.
Mai has worked as a Designer for The Edinburgh Crystal Glass Company and taught basic glass techniques at Bornholm, Denmark.
She has lately received funding for exhibitions, travel and research from The Scottish Arts Council and The Knud Hojgard Foundation for Arts. Her work is shown and sold internationally.
