Ribka trained in stained glass at Mayer Studios, Munich, and went onto receive an MA from the Royal College of Art in London. Glass is his preferred material for painting on, but he also works on paper and on canvas, enjoying the change from translucent to opaque surfaces. At the centre of his work is the figure, showing a condition rather than illustrating a happening. He is a lecturer at the State College for Glass and Jewellery, Neugablonz, in Bavaria.
