Alison Kinnaird

Master

Considered one of contemporary glass’s leading copper wheel glass engravers, Alison Kinnaird was born in Edinburgh and lives in Midlothian, Scotland.  Dividing her time between her two careers as an engraver and a professional Scottish harp player, she was recognised for her contribution to artistic and musical spheres in 1997 when awarded an MBE.  She has continued to collect awards and accolades for both her music making and her glass engraving—most recently the Creative Scotland Award in 2002 and the Glass Sellers’ Award in 2004.  She maintains an active exhibition and commission practice and her work is held in a number of museums and public collections, including the Crafts Council Collection of Great Britain, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, and the Victoria & Alberta Museum.
