Kirstie Rea has been an ongoing advocate for the development and success of Australian glass within the international arena.
As the organiser of the Latitudes workshops and touring exhibition; her relationship with the Bullseye Glass Company; and a board member of the Glass Art Society, she has provided greater scope and opportunities for many talented Australians to exhibit and work overseas.
Rea has achieved her own artistic success with her kiln-formed glass wall panels and sculptures. Her recent works epitomise the elements of Australian contemporary glass that has drawn attention from around the world – the seductive surfaces created by coldworking; and the connection with the Australian natural landscape, in its purist and most simple form.
