The Radcliffe Trust Scholarship Award 2022

North Lands Creative – The Radcliffe Trust Scholarship Award is an important part of our commitment to artistic and cultural development and supports the work of an emerging UK glass artist, providing opportunities for artistic development within an innovative and supportive glass community.

All Artists who graduated between 2019 and 2021 (BA or MA) from a glass course at a UK art school are eligible to enter.

The Award is an initiative to support emerging graduate artistic talent to further their practice following graduation. The award includes a supported 2-month residency at North Lands Creative, an opportunity to participate in Kit Paulson’s masterclass ‘A Master Class of Disorderly Inquiry’, mentoring and technical support. The Award is designed to fund the costs of new artwork and mounting a solo exhibition at North Lands Creative and work acquired into the North Lands Creative Glass Collection.

The Award focuses on glass artists in the first three years after graduation; a critical time when the loss of the university support structure and financial pressures can test an artist’s dedication to their practice. For North Lands Creative and the The Radcliffe Trust, this is a way to keep in touch with the most promising emerging practice in the medium of glass, and with higher education institutions and courses. More broadly, the scheme aims to stimulate glass artist networks in the UK and encourage support for graduates and early career artists.
