Synopsis

The game of flirting can be threatening and dangerous but irresistible. This work visualizes the seduction, as the hot borosilicate glass rod plays the role of the seducer; the leaf- the seducee.
The heat is stimulating and teasing to the leaf, it fragile structure, reacting, glowing and lighting up with excitement, like breath.
The provocative gesture of teasing without actual contact, a yearning and in the end, the desire of intimacy becomes too great and the heat eventually burns the leaf.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Ying Chiun Lee

Born in 1990 in Taiwan. Ying Chiun came to the United States in 2019. She began to explore the erotic through art. In RIT, she merges her passion of photography and glass together. Ying Chiun’s greatest love of glass lays in the process of making. For her, the molten state of glass and the movement of human hands engaging with the material is highly sensual, like the foreplay that builds up the tension for the upcoming. She is a person who sees glass with curiosity. Discovering the fantasy in the moment of art making, and amplifying them through her lens with cameras.
