I live in St Just, in far west Cornwall, UK, and I work across many different media. Whether I am working on a sculpture, a film or an event, all my work is in essence collage: the practice of bringing found materials into a fresh context. I often work sculpturally with glass, using it like a lens to focus the act of looking. Often I deliberately reference photographic looking which is necessarily through a glass lens. Books and libraries are important to the way I work; I use book plates directly in collage and also reprinted on glass. The idea of the library as social infrastructure and community meeting point is of lasting interest.
I studied English Literature at Oxford University and subsequently Fine Art as an MA at Goldsmiths College, London.
My work has been acquired by major public collections including the Government Art Collection, the Arts Council Collection, and New York Public Library.
I have been selected for British Art Show 9 touring 2021-23.
