Marina Aletsee, born in 1994 in Pfronten (Germany), attended the State Vocational School for Glass and Jewelry in Neugablonz from 2012 – 2015 and received her Certificate of apprenticeship for glass and porcelain painting there.
Since 2015, Aletsee has been working as a freelance glass artist in Pfronten in her own workshop, where she creates sculptures with the casting glass technique.
In her glass objects, the human figure, forms from nature and mysticism play a major role. The works always carry a message, sometimes obviously recognizable, sometimes hidden deep within the glass.
The main focus of her current works is on political themes. Thus, the resulting works are an expression of a deep engagement with social – and environmental events. Her focus is currently on the topic of racism in everyday life.
In 2018, Aletsee was accepted into the „Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Schwaben-Süd e.V.“. Her sculpture “Ahorn” is owned Studioglas – Collection of the Glass Museum Immenhausen (Germany). In October 2018, the artist received 3rd place for her work “Lebensfunke” at the Glass – Art – Competition in Düsseldorf (Germany).
