artist bio

About ‘I am a Dutch based artist with a main focus on glass. I work in glass because of its different appearances. It is the perfect medium to support my narrative. It challenges me to become the best I can be, techniquely and personally. The challenge of glass to be transformed, both in form and texture, makes it a perfect medium for exploring. The use of multiple techniques evolves from the complexity of society. I try to capture both personal and universal feelings within my works. It reflects how I see the world around me – there are big and multifaceted global problems. You may wonder how a person can understand all this. I look for answers to those questions, no ready-made solutions but moments of reflection. Over the past year, I have found a new facet in my work as an artist/researcher/developer. I’m working on development of a version of a glasspaste suitable to shape on the potters wheel’.
