Alana Lake is an artist and curator living and working in Berlin.

Born in Tamworth, Staffordshire (UK) 1981.  Lake studied at the Arts University College, Bournemouth undertaking a BA (Hons) in Photography, she later moved to London embarking on a 3year postgraduate program at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, graduating in 2009.  She has an international exhibitions record showing in London, Milan, Turin, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Šiaulių, New York and Zurich.  She has had solo exhibitions at the Aubin Gallery, London and the Museum of Contemporary Art, (MOCA) London. Lake is the founder of Our Dark Chamber. Our Dark Chamber exists as a conceptual space hosting events and exhibitions in temporary locations, promoting inter-disciplinary dialogue and creative exchange.  Lake currently lives and works between London and Berlin and runs the artist project space initiative, GSL Projekt.

With its changing states, strengths and weaknesses combined with its malleable glossy surface, glass has proven to be a conceptually sound medium for Lake to explore her understanding of Freud, Lacan, Kristeva, Zizek and Ballard.  Her series Pleasure Drive journeys through symbolism, movement, stillness, conflict, hedonism, exuberance and sexual lust.
