Emma Baker was on residency at North Lands Creative for two weeks during November 2018, during this time some amazing pieces of work were produced.
Below are a few words from Emma reflecting on her time spent with us:
‘I have decided that all the works I made during my residency will be named with Gaelic names, just to continue their connection to their origin.
This piece is one I really feel is the start of something new and I’m excited to continue working with the process of bringing blown glass into kiln forming. I love the visual similarities it shares with the rock stacks and strata on the Caithness coast: The harsh edges, colouration and defined layers. During my residency time at North Lands Creative I wanted to create work in response to and directly influenced by my surroundings and I feel this work achieves just that’.
